Is there a way to lock the creation of a specific issue type ?

Hi everyone,

I have some "old" issue types for which every issues has reached their final state and I'm looking for a way to lock the creation of these specific issue types, not just with a condition or a validator upon workflow creation, I really want them to not being suggested when a user try to create an issue.

I don't know if disassociating issue types from all their workflows will prevent them from being created while still allowing them to be consulted.

And I really don't want to take the risk, so if anyone can tell me if that's the solution, or if there is a better one ?

No, there's no way to do this.  You can't remove an issue type from the creation option without changing all the current issues of that type to one that you want to continue to create.  The best you can do is change the workflow for issue types you don't want to use to one that has an impossible condition on it, which will annoy your people because they can't create issues of that type any more and could lose what they are entering into it (and the only way to do that is with a validator)
