Hi @Sanjivani Wayal

Old description should be visible in history.

Hi @Sanjivani Wayal

You can see description changes in the History section of each issue. However, the formatting will be lost, so it isn't easy to copy & paste it.

My team has faced this problem too, so we've implemented the option to revert changes made to the description. It's available with Issue History for Jira app.

Text formatting (bold, color, lists, tables) will be preserved. The only exception is attachments. As Jira does not store attachments after removal, you can only return the name of the removed file.

Try how it works for you.

Hello,

By default, Jira does not track deleted issues, which are lost forever. To prevent it from happening again, for Jira Cloud you can try User Activity Audit Log.

You can check more details in the article as well: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-discussions/How-to-restore-deleted-issues-and-track-audit-logs/m-p/2509087#M21327

You can try the app and if you have any questions and/or suggestions, please let us know via this thread, by opening a ticket on our Service Desk and we can schedule a demo for the application.

Best regards

Nino.
