How to convert a diagram which is in pdf format to drawio format?

I draw 3-4 diagram in draw.io but exported in pdf format. Now I don't have access to those files. So, is there any way to convert pdf to drawio format? I tried online converter tool but after that diagram is not coming in editable format. Pls suggest me something. Thanks in advance.

PDF is a file type that is meant to save documents by keeping the format. It is useful to print/ transfer files.

PDFs can generally not be edited or converted back to the orginal format. Yes, there are some conversion tools but the possibilities are quite limited because PDFs are not meant to do that.

I'm afraid converting PDF to draw.io is not possible. You will have to recreate you drawning.

Hi, actually if you open that pdf folder in note pad you will get xml code, you need to take that xml code in new text document and save as xml file ( do not forthet to select all device when you will save that document) after that you can import it in draw.io and it will read your xml code. Good luck!

Also, you need write .xml when you save the file for example mydocument.xml and in second section choose all the device and save it, for import use draw.io website in order to import it.

would you know what is the encoding it has to be saved as ANSI or UTF16 ?

When you open a file in notepad++ you will see its encoding on the bottom right of the screen.
