New JIRA board should have all the stories created from different boards(Internal) with some Tag

Manjari Muppaneni

Hi Team,

I have are requirement to see all the Jira tickets in new Jira Board  which  are marked/tagged as "Mandatory for Release" from different boards .

How can I tag as "Mandatory For Release" in other Jira boards and how to setup to appear those tickets in new Jira Board.

Hi @Manjari Muppaneni , welcome to the community and thanks for your question.

You can go one of two ways to meet this requirement. You can create a label, which you can then add to all of the issues that should appear in the cross-project board. The risk of using labels, however, is that any user can create them and so it can happen, with something like 'mandatory for release' that someone can accidentally create another label if they try to put something like 'mand4release' or something like this.

The other option is to create a custom field and add it to all the screens for the issues where you want people to indicate this preference. The benefit of using a custom field is that you won't have this issue of people creating incorrect labels. However, it is a bit more fiddly to set up, as you need to identify all the projects and issue types to which you want to add the custom field.

In either case, you would need to edit the filter query for the cross-project board to include the label or custom field.

Let us know if you have any more questions and good luck!
