Automation on fix versions

I have 4 versions v2.1, v2.2, v1.1,v1.2. When a bug is resolved and then it moves to regularize patch, here an automation runs and creates a task ticket in the same project and links to this bug. Now what I m looking for is if the bug ticket resolved and has fix version v1.1 then the automation task ticket should have fix version as v1.2 and if bug resolved has fix version v2.1 then the automation task ticket should have fix version as v2.2. Any suggestions

What have you tried thus far to solve this need?

If you have started an automation rule, please post images of your complete rule and the audit log details of the rule execution.  Those will provide context for the community to offer suggestions.

If you have not started a rule yet, I recommend a bit of studying and experimentation, as both are required to create automation rules.  To get you started, here is a suggested approach:

You could use the text functions to split apart the version name, use math operations to increment the number, and then set the correct version.  Here are the relevant documentation sources:
