Azure AD Connection

Hello,

we want to Connect Jira to our Azure AD Infrastructur but I got a question.

We are have users in Jira which created an Account. What happens with them when we connect Jira to Azure. They all use they company emails from azure.

Hi @Marcel Vellage ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!

When you integrate Atlassian Access with Azure AD and provisioned the Accounts it will get automatically changed.

If you configures authentication policy and enables SSO then it will redirect you and users to authenticated through Azure AD.

Note: In order to perform the Integration with Azure AD and enable SSO, you would need to procure Atlassian Access that is another separate Atlassian Product.

You can have an only local Active Directory, you can have an only Azure Active Directory and you can have a hybrid Active Directory

In Atlassian Cloud users are identified by their email.

If the users are already using the emails from Azure AD, when you integrate (via Atlassian Access):

- for SSO nothing really changes, they enter their email, they get redirected to Azure AD to login, they login, they get redirected back

- for User Provisioning, Azure AD pushes users to Atlassian Cloud, those that have the same email get automatically "matched"/"connected" i.e. also nothing special will happen
