Hello,How to identify more than one person in a task?
Hi @Büşra Öztürk
In Jira, the assignee is a single user picker field.
You could use some custom fields named "Additional assignee" or similar to identify the other assignee but the reports that is based on the assignee role will always pick the system field assignee.
The other approach is to break the task into subtasks and assign them to different people.
Hi Büşra,
You can't assign the task to more than one person. But you can create a new multi-user picker field where you can enter multiple names if you like.
You can't assign the task to more than one person in Jira Software. However, if you can further break the tasks into smaller sub-tasks they can be assigned to different team members.
For eg - Under a story there can be subtasks pertaining to coding, testing, review, etc.

The assignee is the single person responsible for getting something done. It is an absolute nightmare in real life to have multiple assignees, it breaks planning, accountability, audit, responsibility, and team-work.
But it is absolutely a good thing to have "and these other people might be aware" - whether it's naming the team that the assignee is part of so that they might be aware of it, and be valid assignees to flip it over to, or naming a list of interested people, yep, do that.
For most project types though, go a step further - don't name individuals, name teams. (Ideally, select the assignee from the team). In Scrum and Kanban Software projects, and probably work-management, a team is almost always "the people using the board who can be assigned issues", in Support projects, the team is looking at the SLAs, mostly the issue closest to breaching it. But there's nothing wrong with using a team or group field to be explicit about that.
(with one case where you can get away with "assign to these two" because they work so closely together that it doesn't matter which one of them you assign it to)
Hi @Büşra Öztürk ,
"How to identify more than one person in a task?" Please can you add some more details to this?
When you mean Identify do you want to know if more than one person worked on that ticket? Or If more than one person has been assigned to the task?
Little more insight would help us in getting more information to you. :-)
