I'd like to report the number of issues that exist at each status given a specific list of labels (or similar). For example this would give a quick snap show of how many ticket are to do/in progress/blocked/done by Team 1/Team 2/Team3.Is there any way of achieving this with Jira/Confluence?
Are you using the native Labels field where multiple labels can be applied?
If you are not using the native Labels field are you using a custom field? If so, what type of custom field?
Do you set multiple values in the field, or do you only ever assign one value in the field?
The Two Dimensional Issue Statistics gadget available in Jira Dashboards might work for you. It does support the Labels field, but if you are using a custom field it might not support the type of custom field you are using.
Hi @[deleted],
Try our Great Gadgets app for Jira / Confluence. One of the many gadgets that it offers is the Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD), which can be used to visualize the count of issues in statuses along the time. It is highly configurable, and hovering the mouse cursor over the chart will show you the actual numbers.
All you have to do is to create a filter for each team (A, B and C) and configure a gadget for each team to use the appropriate filter.
This app offers many gadgets that you could use to track your teams. See also this article on our blog: How to track multi-team or scaled-agile projects (such as SAFe®) in Jira with Great Gadgets app

Yes we use the native labels and we do apply multiple. One of the labels is to indicate the relevant team that should pick up the work. So ultimately I just want to know for each time how many tasks exist at each status
Try the gadget I mentioned.
Note though that issues will be double counted. If an issue has two labels it will be counted in the Status column for each label. The totals for the Statues will be unique issues, because an issue can have only one status, but the total for all the Label subtotals will be more than the number of issues you have.
Note also that if you have other Label values actually on the issues, besides the ones you are selecting in your filter, then those other Labels will be in the gadget also. In the example below I filtered for issues that have Label-1 or Label-3. Some of the issues also have Label-2, Label-100, or Meta-label. So each of those also gets a statistic count. It is not possible to exclude those labels from the gadget results.
