How do you make a field "required '' when creating an issue from Jira

Good day everyone.

I am trying to make fields required when logging new issues from within Jira using the " Create '' button on my project.

I managed to solve the manual entry option by using field required validators within the workflow which works fine for when you manually create an issue however, I noticed that when I tried to log an issue using our email channel, I get the following error:

When I did try to add the field as required through the field configuration page, I received an error as follows: "Configured request type has too many visible required fields" hence me trying the validator option.

Assistance in this will be greatly appreciated.

For Jira Service Management the request type used by the email handler may have only the Summary and Description fields as Required fields, as per this article:

You cannot have additional required fields for the request type created by emails, nor can you have Validators for field in the Create transition for the workflow that applies to that type of request.

Use a different request type for issues created from emails. Set required fields only for the request types that can be created only through the UI.
