How to set up a report to list # of requests (JSM) per customer (reporter)?

I'm looking for a way to get a total # of opened requests in JSM per month per reporter. So I'd need a total for companyx for every month, a total for companyY for every month, and so on, in the same table, preferably. I can't find a way to do this within the report feature or the custom search feature. Even better would be an average across customers of opened requests per month.

In the Jira Dashboard there is a gadget called Two Dimensional Issue Statistic. You can get a table report of issue counts based on two fields, such as Reporter and Issue Type.

You could use multiple instances of this gadget, each with a Saved Filter powering it that selects the issues related to customers in just one company.

If you wanted to be able to show multiple Months in one table, you would need to do some extra work to parse out the Month/Year in which an issue was created and store that in a separate Selection list field, so that you could use that field as one of axis of the table.

There may also be third party apps that provide additional reporting capabilities that could fulfill your requirements.
