"Assignee" field not recognized by automation

Hello,

Currently I have an automation that is triggered by a specific transition in an issue. Then it should look for linked issues and finally change the linked issue's assignee to be a specific person.

When performing the automation it throwns an error saying the assignee field is not recognized, but the assignee field is inherent to JIRA and it was done using JIRA automation "tick box". So why is this not working ? I'm not the one writing the field assignee or anything. The assignee field is the screen of the issue type I want to change and I can easily change it manually.

I've experienced this in the past.

Do you want to update the assignee field to the linked issue? If so, I would separate that out to it own action. I find when issuing the 'Transition' action in automations its best to only use it to transition the status and not tack on additional actions.

It could be that the Assignee field in the linked issue is not editable in its present state. You may need to check the Edit Screen for the linked issue type, or check the workflow of the linked issue for validations, conditions, or properties that limit the editability of the Assignee field. Remember that a Status can also have properties that may limit what can be edited. You may need to effect the transition first and change the assignee second.
