Is it possible to export issue history of statuses?

Vladimir Sumilin

Dear all,

I think I am not the first one, who is asking this question, but I was searching for the answer on Google and have not found the free answer without installing any other software. Is there any software from Atlassian or another way to make it?

Best regards,

Vladimir

Hi @Vladimir Sumilin

If you would be interested in a mktplace app to get this data, you can try

Time in Status Reports

The add-on provides the status transition details in the entire issue lifecycle.

And you can export to a CSV format easily

Also there are 20+ reports in the app which help to meet a wide range of use cases.

Do try it out. It is free upto 10 users.

Disclaimer : I work for RVS, the vendor for this app

It is not possible with the built-in features, unfortunately

It is possible with our Better Excel Exporter app:

It is also possible to repeat value along the rows, just see the sample exports.

(Discl. it is a paid and supported app developed by our team.)

Hi @Vladimir Sumilin

What problem are you trying to solve by exporting the issue history of status changes? Knowing that may help the community to offer other suggestions.

Until we know that...There is no built-in export of the issue history information.

You can call the REST API function to get the changelogs, by pages, and then filter for what you needed from the results. Please look here for information about that function: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/api-group-issues/#api-rest-api-3-issue-issueidorkey-changelog-get

Kind regards,

Hi @Bill Sheboy

In order to streamline and consolidate our projects effectively, it has been identified that merging the two similar projects into one would be more beneficial than making changes separately. Consequently, it is crucial to transfer the data from one project to the other, while also preserving the historical statuses of the respective issues. This consolidation not only ensures better project management but also facilitates comprehensive analytics, as it allows us to consider all relevant data that might otherwise be overlooked.

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,

Vladimir

Hi @Aron Gombas _Midori_

Is it possible with your app to get information about status changes?

I would like to obtain information regarding the specific status changes and corresponding dates.

For example:

Yes.

As you can see in the spreadsheet screenshot above, you can filter the "Changed field" column to "status" only. Then you will see all status changes, and nothing else. The corresponding date is in the "Change time" column.

It is that simple.

Thank you for that information. When you want to merge project issues and want to preserve something like issue status history, all possible status values must be in the target project...even if they are not used any longer. Otherwise when you move the issues Jira will ask you to provide replacement values for each status.

The Advanced Export application allows to do it. You can export history of changes of any field.

There is a trial version that can be accessed for free. Try it.

The app we developer, CIFJ - Issue History Dashboard app will allow you to achieve this.

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1235591/cifj-issue-history-dashboard?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

You will be able to filter your search and also export the data in CSV format without the need to process the JSON Rest call result yourself.
