Hello, anybody know of a way to automate rule for when creating a bug, task or a story to have mandatory parenting to an epic?

There's a couple of ways to do this depending on your setup:
1. Change your project Field Configuration for the issue types in question and make 'Epic Link' mandatory (preferred as this will also add an asterisk to the field upon creation to let users know it's mandatory)
2. Add a validator on the create transition, for the workflows of the respective issue types, that requires 'Epic Link' to have a value.
