User accounts with sub-tasks not showing up on active sprint board

Hello everyone, 

I am having a problem with JIRA Scrum project. I can't recall, it is either team-managed or company-managed project.

 

So the issue is if say user account X has been assigned a subtask, where the main story of the subtask is assigned to user account Y, then: (i) Neither on X's view of the active sprint, can X see the assigned subtask; (ii) Nor on Y's view of the active sprint, can Y see the user account X on the list of users to filter on (to see filtered view of the active sprint). Is there a project setting issue? Thank you in advance.

It matters whether the project is Team Managed or Company Managed. Please find out which it is and let us know.

You say that users X and Y each have a "view" of the sprint. Are they looking at the same board and applying filters to it to change what is visible? Or does each user have a custom board for themselves based on a custom filter?

Can you provide screen images of the board views for user X and user Y? You can black out the details of the issues if necessary.
