Confluence Search

Question

Hey!

Is there a way to adjust the search behavior to find relevant pages for partial wording?

For example, one of my team members was looking for "requests rehandle" and didn't find the relevant article. When I typed in the full term "requests rehandler" I did find the relevant article.

So a missing "r" changed the search results. Any ideas?

Hi @Sapir Shemesh

This works with our app "iFinder Confluence Search" out of the box.

Additionally, by typing the first query letters, the auto-complete function displays the search user suggestions, based on already existing content. An auto-correction is also available and helps with typing errors.

If you are interested in a high-quality search solution for Confluence, iFinder Confluence Search for Confluence Cloud is now available at Atlassian Marketplace. It helps even the confluence user without expert knowledge to search quite intuitively.

This AI-based enterprise search solution delivers top results based on linguistic analysis and offers many additional features. Also, a dashboard is available where you can find your previous searches, your saved searches, and favorites.

That does not fit to what's written here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/search-139528.html

Because there it says: "Results will appear as you type — you don't need to hit enter."

So the search should not wait for a wildcard but instead suggest search results immediately.

I am new to Confluence but a bit surprised that such basic things do not work as documented. Using wildcards is moreover very technical. Who uses wildcards in Google Search for example?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

A wildcard should do the trick. For example: rehandle*
