Components in jira SW

Hi,

I have created a Software project but the Components option do not exist in the sidebar. How do I create and add components?

Indeed ...

Components are only available in Company Managed projects if I remember correctly.

And you have to be project administrator to be able to add components.

If this is a Team-managed project, components are not currently available. Here is the feature request for that if you want to vote for it and follow along.
