We are retrieving EPIC using this API https://risksense.atlassian.net/rest/api/2/search?jql=issuetype=Epic. Is it the right way to link Epics across the projects to an Issue?

Is JIRA deprecated Username / Password way of authenticating APIs and allows only Username / API Token based authentication. If so, does this deprecation happen both for Cloud and On-Prem versions of JIRA?
