Is it possible to force child task creation?

Hello!

 

After a certain part of my workflow -- I need child tasks to be created (as it is essential to continue the flow). Is there a way to force this so the board manager does not forget?

 

Example for context:

When Epic campaign issue is transitioned to NEED PRODUCT -- I would like it to force (i.e remind) child tasks so our product manager knows what "child" needs what product

Hi Breanna!

You are able to create an automation that looks like this:

• When: Issue Transitioned to "NEED PRODUCT"
• Then: Create Sub-tasks
  • Press Add fields to get more options:
    • Project: Select what fits (probably Same project/ Same as trigger)
    • Issue type: Sub-task
    • Parent issue: Current issue
    • Set summary, description and additional fields as you like.
  • Save

What this will do is when you move your parent issue (Story, Task, etc) forward to the Need Product, it will add a sub-task automatically to the issue.
