Outlook Add ins

Question

Hello Jira Community,

could someone please enlighten me on the different Jira Adds in in outlook.

I see there is Jira for Outlook, Jira Plugin for Outlook (OTJ Jira for Outlook), and Jira Cloud for Outlook (Official). Can you please tell me how they are different from each other?

We are on JSM Cloud so what do these 3 mean for us. If I simply would like to have the outlook add in, which is the correct app?

Thanks so much in advance.

Hello @jmercado ,

It's understandable to be confused about the different Jira Outlook add-ons, especially JSM Cloud. Choosing the right addon depends on your needs and budget, could you share what features you're interested in? You can start a free trial and see what fits your needs the most.

Based on my initial analysis, I see that Jira Plugin for Jira Plugin for Outlook (OTJ Jira for Outlook) will be a good choice for JSM Cloud; it offers integration with JSM Cloud & Jira Cloud with several key benefits that can significantly enhance JSM Cloud user's workflow and improve overall efficiency. Here are some of the most important advantages:

* Support Customer Login
* Support almost all Jira languages including Arabic
* Create issues directly from emails
* Perform quick actions
* View related issues
* Assign work and communicate with your team members
* Share information with customers
* Tempo Log Work
* Advanced search filters

Overall, the Jira Plugin for Outlook offers a valuable tool for JSM Cloud users in boosting productivity and collaboration, enhancing streamlined workflow, and improving customer service efficiency and effectiveness for your team.

You can find more details in this documentation.

Hope this will be helpful!

Hi @jmercado ,

the apps are from different vendors and have a slightly different price point (you might also want to check the pricing tab before making a decision, most of them are free for up to 10 users). I recommend to start a free trial with the apps and see, what fits your needs the most. Or you can work with the out of the box integration by Atlassian.

Jira for Outlook (Outlook add-in: Jira for Outlook | Microsoft AppSource) is from yasoon (the company I work for) and is part of the app Microsoft 365 for Jira - Outlook Email, Teams, Calendar | Atlassian Marketplace

Here's a demo video with a feature overview for the Outlook integration: https://youtu.be/t_He6iriAUE

And as a side note: Microsoft 365 for Jira offers a deeper integration with Microsoft Teams and even Outlook calendars. E. g. you can embed your customer portal in Microsoft Teams and let customers raise support tickets directly in Teams.

Feel free to book a demo with us, if you want to discuss your specific use case: Meet Microsoft 365 for Jira (office365.com)

Happy Tuesday!

Hi, @jmercado ! Don't know about the other two, but Jira Cloud for Outlook (Official) is the one made by Atlassian.
