Automation not working for cloned issues for issue create trigger

I have automation for an issue type that sets the due date with the trigger of create issue.  I have a project that as a workflow post function, using script runner, clones the issue into another project and issue type that matches the automation.  However, the automation does not set the due date.  Is there a difference between clone issue and create issue such that automation does not see the event trigger issue created when an issue is cloned?

Not sure and I do not have access to a JIRA Server instance at the moment but have you check that the rule also listen on the other project, also have you try to check the option to allow other rule to triger this rule ?
