Hi,
I would like to map a year-long project with Jira and especially with the advanced roadmap. How can I highlight important milestones that need to be achieved in the advanced roadmap?
Thanks for the help.
Hi @Hannah Schweibert and welcome to the Community!
Typically, your milestones are represented in the time dimension of the iron triangle of planning (time - scope - teams). In Jira this is represented by releases (linked to issues via the fixversion field). A release has a start and end date that can be either fixed or dynamic and represented on the timeline as a coloured circle (green as long as you're still on track to deliver on time, red when your team derails).
By linking your work to that release, you don't just get an indication of when it is due, but also a clear overview of all the tasks that need to be done to get the milestone delivered.
To learn more about releases in Advanced Roadmaps, check out the full support documentation here.
Hope this helps!
