Jira API with OAuth 2.0 returns a deleted users

I wrote a script for Google Sheets to get all the users that have been assigned to the given projects but for some reason the API returns even the users who was deleted from our Jira a while ago (even users who had been deleted 6 mo ago)
Is there some reason and ways to fix it?
