I need to access a confluence page programmatically using vscode in a node js project, I viewed confluence documentation and other resources but felt lost between authentication and apis, Can someone provide some walkthrough steps or examples ?

The basic approach is to use Confluence Cloud REST API - https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/confluence/rest/v1/api-group-content/#api-wiki-rest-api-content-get.
So you just perform HTTP requests and get the data you need.
