How to link custom field selection to assignee?

I've created a custom field with a selection list, is it possible to auto-select the assignee based on a selection from the selection list?

Anything somehow related to this question ended up being related to the installation...

You can't do it because it needs customizations. That is not an option on onDemand instance!
