How to get an aggregated time in the epic by Jira API

Question

There is a field "aggregateprogress " in the returned JSON object from API which probably should show all aggregated time from worklogs of tasks and subtasks of tasks, but it doesn't. Calculates only children's tasks without them subtasks.

How is possible to get or calculate the aggregated time?

What have you tried thus far to solve this?

As you are apparently calling the REST API, and you seem to understand the issue structure, couldn't you first gather the child issues of the epic, and then sum the results from the linked subtasks also using the REST API?

If you doing this from inside of Jira, I believe this could also be done using an automation rule as the subtask information is available to the child issues as you iterate over them.
