Using REST API import Jira Xray execution without tests!?

Hi all,

I wonder if there is any way to import Jira Xray execution using Rest API. I tried to do it several times but it return HTTP status 200 without a real created issue. Can anybody explain it to me? I don't know what to do in this case, should it be prevented or does this function goes wrong?

could you describe in more details what and how you are trying to import?

In general it‘s possible to import eg. results of several test automation frameworks.

Sorry for my late reply.
In my special cases, the response time for all of my steps is taking too much time I want to reduce waiting for response time by pushing the information about execution without tests first, then updating that execution later. So does Jira Xray have an endpoint to do it or Jira API is the only way to create execution without tests?

Hi @Hiep Vu Hoang

As test execution (in xray context) is handled as standard jira issue using the Jira API would be your choice if you´d like to first create the issue itself (as a container) and then afterwards using the xray api to import results in this execution. Personally I´m using this way in a github pipeline I built.
