Use Jira automation to create a confluence page using the template dropdown

I have built a rule in Jira Automation, that creates a confluence page under a folder in a space in a confluence instance, using the "create page in confluence" function.

The same automation also creates a new task in the correct project and updates the description with the URL of the confluence page. (this is awesome!)

However, I want to use a template to pre-populate the information in the confluence page.

There is a Template dropdown, but there are no templates listed, how do I get a page added to this template drop-down or am I missing something.

You have to create a few templates on Confluence first. These templates can either be global or space specific templates.

I figured out that templates with variables are not appearing in the drop down menu of the Create Confluence Page automation action.

@Alex Koxaras and all, do I understand correctly that only space templates are visible in that dropdown list?

For me it was empty. I added a space template and then this was visible. It would be nice to be able to use Global templates, do you know if this is possible?

Also, do you know if we can recover the Confluence link and be able to link the JIRA to the Confluence page?

Btw, we can use smart values in the title, which is great.

I've noticed the same behavior: If your Template has a "New variable" gadget it will not display in the drop down menu

Have you found a way to insert data in the new created Confluence page, using Jira Automation?

I can create a new page in Confluence, but I cannot append any piece of information from Jira to Confluence
