Control visibility of Jira Issues by the Project Owners

Question

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if there is a way for the project owners in Jira to restrict the visibility of issues in the project to certain users in a checklist form. Eg. if I am a project owner, I can go to any issue and from a pre-defined checklist, I can select and deselect the users and accordingly they would be able to view the issue or not.

PS: I know there is a mechanism to restrict visibility via configuring "Issue Security Schemes". Was trying to understand if a checklist sort of mechanism exists or not.

Using builtin features, you have two ways to do that.

1. Manage access through "Brows Project" permission. you can define access throug user or group custom field and manage those fields at issue level

2. Setup a Issue Security level

Hi @Rohit Singh and welcome to the community,

You are half way there!

* First of all create a single/multiple group or user single/multiple field and place it on the VIEW screen of issue types of your project. 
* Create a self transition on all workflows of your project's issue types with a condition to be visible only by your role (e.g. Project Owner). 
* On that transition place a screen with the field you created.
* Now place that field on the security levels you want.
* Whenever you want to change the visibility of an issue, even with a security level imposed, you can "transition" the issue via this self transition, add a user or a group or multiple users and groups and voila!
