When getting a request using Service Desk API, why is "requestFieldValues" an empty array?

Hello Community,

When calling the Service Desk API for getting a request in python:

url = 'https://<my-domain>.atlassian.net/rest/servicedeskapi/request/&lt;issue_key>'
auth = HTTPBasicAuth(<my-email>, <my-token>)
headers = {"Accept": "application/json"}
response = requests.get(url, headers=headers, auth=auth)

 The 'requestFieldValues' in the response is an empty array: { "requestFieldValues":[] }

What might be causing this?
