I have the automation set up but how do I get Jira to inherit the senders email address into my email field so that it automatically sends it back to sender?
I have figured it out. Is used {{issue.description.substringBetween("o:","]")}} in my automation to inherit the email address of sender.

Can you also not just use the Reporter field?
I was looking to send a reply email to someone who is not in our Jira account so I don't think they would be a reporter, or am I incorrect?
Who is listed as the Reporter when the issue is created by email? It's a mandatory field, so there has to be a value there.
