How to make the "Solution" field mandatory when closing a task?
Do you want to block the transition if it is not filled in?
Do you have that field added to the close screen?
Add a validator to the "close" transitions in your workflow, they can check if a field is filled or not and prompt the user for more data

You can add a transition screen to the transition going to Closed and place the Resolution field in that screen. Then add the validator to the same transition as Nic mentions.

Sometimes when closing the task, there is no window with filling in the "Solution" field. Just switching to "Closed" status.
You'll need to talk to your admins - they will need to add the screen (or the field to the current screen) in the workflow, so that the user is prompted for it. Or just the validator I described.
