Description on advanced search pages

Question

On advanced search result page, each item has a title, breadcrumb & a short description that gives an overview of page content.

I'd like to know if this description is editable ?

Is there any setting that allows to set rules to choose which part of a page will be displayed as a description (for example : always first lines of the document). Or even to manually write it such as a metadescription, and replace the automatic text generation ?

I noticed that the text displayed can differ for the same Confluence page, depending on the keyword request. Having a unique description for each page would allow to ensure that the descritption is representative and gives an overview of the content. (just like a metadescription for Google’s SEO)

There is not a way to define this.  The search takes a snippet off of the page that contains the keyword that you are searching for.  We have made it so we have a standard format for a description on the top of our KBs, documentation and other formattable documents.  This description contains specific keywords that we would like individuals searching for the page to key off of.  This makes the pages turn up in the proper search results with meaningful information.  Hope this helps.
