Future sprints and solved issues from previous sprints

Hi there Jira people,

 I recently created a "Two Dimensional Filter Statistics" dashboard that gives me great statistics about the current sprint in my project. 
Now I have two questions:

1. I want to know if there is a way to activate this dashboard in the previous sprints of the project?
2. If possible, how to make the dashboard run automatically for future sprints?

Hi @Shay Refael -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The built-in reports and gadgets for dashboards are not great at this type of reporting.  And neither is JQL for accessing sprints relative to "now".  (The data is there; we just cannot query it with JQL.)

Some possible work-arounds are:

• Build a dashboard which specifically looks at the last N-sprints (e.g. 3), and build filters accordingly.  For example, let's say you added a custom field that contained the end date of a sprint.  You could then reference that field using the relative date functions, such as myField = endOfWeek(-2) for the prior sprint.  The custom field could be set by an automation rule for issues in the sprint at the time it started (or completed).
• Investigate the marketplace for JQL addons which permit making queries for such things, and then use the built-in gadgets
• Investigate the marketplace for better gadgets and reporting
