Can I unassign user form a post function?

Hi,

In my workflow, I'm trying to auto-UNassign an issue when the transition to Review is triggered. I've seen how to assign to user or roles in a transition post-function, but I have not been able to figure out how to remove the assignment.

Can this be done?

My business case is that a developer who has completed a task cannot be the one to review it, so it must be unassigned so other developers know that they can take it.

Yes, you can. In the workflow transition, add an Update Issue Field post-function, to set the assignee to Unassigned. Just like that.
