How can I be notified when a project reaches a sum of logged hours bigger than the estimated?

Several of my company's projects are sold with a limit of hours contracted.

I need to be notified by e-mail when that limit is reached, meaning, when the sum of all worklogs of that project reaches a planned time which by the way, I don't know how to set. Is that possible somehow? Using an automatic rule and if so what's the query/configuration?

There is no native method to specify total hours for an entire project. I have not yet found a plug-in that would add that functionality.

You can use a dashboard to show the total hours logged against issues in a project. See

I found this post about using Jira Automation to send an alert when time spent exceeds a hard coded value. I haven't tested this.
