Ugh- why does checking a box on an action item scroll the page up???

Question

This seriously drives me BONKERS. I'm not sure if it happens every time. But very often, when I'm editing a page that has "action items" on it (those little checkboxes), when I check one of them, it causes the page to scroll back up to the top, causing me to lose my place. Some of the pages I'm editing can be quite long so it's not that easy to find the place where I was, and very often I will have to check off multiple action items at once in the same area of a page.

WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THIS?!?! How to fix it??? It literally causes an edit that should take 5 seconds to take minutes instead.

I'm using Firefox on OS X.

TIFU by loudly screaming F-Off at my screen due to this behaviour.

Unfortunately that was the very moment my wife began to open the door to my office. She jumped and threw most of a hot cup of tea down herself.

Although not permanently damaged, she was not at all happy about this.

In the interests of spouses, and others, everywhere please address this annoyance!

Hi,

we ran into this issue recently. Also working with checkboxes in edit mode of a confluence page.

What I found was that the editor jumps back to where the cursus is. Normally when editing a page that would be the top of the document.

When you click the text behind the checkbox which you want to edit to give the cursor a new location the editor will jump to the same position of the view you're already in. Now you can click the checkboxes without jumping around on the page. Put the cursor at a new position to continue working on that height in the page.

It's kind of a work-around, but worked for us to be able to edit pages.

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this and being VERY frustrated by it. When you have a long page of check boxes it's very annoying to have to scroll and find your spot again after you've checked one.

I did find a workaround though! If you click on the row you are checking, so the cursor appears in that row of text, it won't scroll back to the top and stays on that row. Hope that makes sense.
