How to automatically add due date from the start date applied?

I've attempted to automate the due date to set based on the start date applied and the priority level assigned. (e.g. Start date applied = 15th January 2022; Due date to be automated 7 days after = 21st January 2022). The smart values I used was

{{startDate.plusDays(7)}}

but it does not seem to be working. I've tried using 

{{now.plusDays(7)}}

as well but that will change according to the day that I updated the issue rather than the start date implemented.

If you want to use smart valiues to refer to custom fields on your issue, you should reference them like this, with an explicit reference to the issue:
