Hi,
I need to make the project to be visible only to the users with the specific user role or the user or the group, and others should not be able to see the project .
How can i achieve it ?
Change the permission scheme for the project.
Look at the "browse project" line - you'll want to remove what is there (the default is usually something like "all logged in users") and replace it with "role = X". Then put the right users and groups into the role.
Bear in mind that permission schemes can be shared - you may not want to do this for many projects, so check if the scheme is used by other projects before you make the change. If it is shared, you should probably create a copy of it and tell your project to use the new one, so you can edit that without affecting anyone else.
Hello, To restrict view permissions on a project, all you need to do is to change the "Browse Projects" permission.Go to the Project settings → Permissions → Actions, Edit permissions -> Browse Projects- Remove ; and remove all public groups and users that you want to exclude, then Add the group desired.
Make sure that the permission scheme used for the project is unique ( not shared with other projects )
@Sunilkumar k ,
Refer This for Permission it will help you to understand the All Project Permission.
Regarding your question - You need to give "Browse Project" Permission to that specific role/group so that only those can access the project.
Provided you will need Jira admin permission
Hi @Houssein Barkallah
By changing in the "Browse Projects " permissions iam able to restrict the user to access the project , still the name of project is visible to all the users , but i want the project should be visible only to the specific users for the others the project should not be visible .
Is it possible?
Hi @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-
Hi @Sachin Dhamale ,
You also need to restrict Create Issue Permission so No one able to see that project while creating issue
Not only while creating the issue i want that project should not be visible in the list of projects for all the users it should be visible to only the specific user
Where does the name of the project appear to people who don't have "browse project"?
When you remove the browse permission, no one can see-create-edit the project and its issues unless they have that permission.
Oh, sorry, I just realised you said "create" earlier.
That's fixable - make the same change to the "create issue" permission as you did to "browse" - if someone can create issues in a project, it will be offered to them in the project list in the create screen, even when they wouldn't be able to see the issue they create!
