How do I change colors of Jira task items?

I'm creating projects and adding tasks. I want the tasks to show up on the calendar and timeline in different colors. Right now they are all blue.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The color that you see in calendar and timeline is based on the color associated with the priority. You can change that if you go to Settings > Issues > Priorities and edit the priority.

Don't use white or you won't see the issue due to the white background. From experience
