How to use StoryPoint for all type of issues like Story, Bug, Task, any new custom type Issue

Hello Support Team

 

I wanted to use `Story Point` field as the criteria for the estimation and velocity tracking on Jira

I realised this `Story Point` field is only available for Story type of issue, not for the other ones like Bug, Task and so on

 

Is there any way to use this `Story Point` for all of them?

 

Another thing is about the `Active Sprint` page

This page displays the Issues which has sub tasks as the top first one

And the other issues are under `Other issues`

In terms of user experiences, I always move and sort the issues according to the priority

I move the top priority ones as the top first ones

 

But when I go to the active sprint page, the order is broken

Let me know if there is any possibility for us to figure out this

Welcome to the community.

The Story Point field can be added to the Field Configurations and Screens for any issue type, so yes, you can make it available for the other issue types.

Regarding the Active Sprints page there are two ways to "order" the issues.

By default the issues are order by Rank - how you prioritized them.

Additionally in the board display (where you see the Active Sprints) the board can be configured with Swim Lanes to organize issues into horizontal bands based on criteria. These Swimlanes can visually override your prioritization to some extent, depending on how the swim lanes have been configured. Within each swimlane the issues will still be ordered by the prioritization you set. Refer to this page for more information about Swimlanes.

If you want the issues to display purely based on your prioritization, you will need to turn off the swimlanes.
