I am able to copy epic from "Parent " to child but unable to do it for grandchildren.
Hi @Arnav
To achieve this, you can have 2 automation:
1 which will copy labels from epic to its children and then 2nd which will copy from children to grand children.
Let me know if you face any issues while creating such automations
HI @Arnav
What do you mean by automatically propagate labels?
You could do this with automation rules, or possibly marketplace addons. To do this with automation rules, please ensure you cover all the scenarios which are relevant to you. For example:
Also please note that the way epics and children link is different in Company-Managed and Team-Managed projects: company-managed use "Epic Link" and team-managed uses "Parent".
If you wish to try this with automation rules, please take a look at these references and examples, create your rule, and if you run into challenges ask the community to help.
Kind regards,Bill
Hi Deepanshu,
Thank you so much for your reply,Please find the below rule that I have created. But it is not effecting to grand children. Please help me to get it reflected in grandchildren.
When: Value changed for LABELS
If : Issue matched in JQL - IssueType in (Epic)
For Stories (or Other issue in Epic)
Then :Edit issue fields Lables
Could you please write automation for this (how to copy children to grand children ).
Please post the image here.It would be great to understand .
Hi Bill,
I have created the above rules, which is not working. Please check and let me know where I have done a mistake.
Please post images of your automation rules and the audit log details, rather than posting links to your company's site instance.
What is not working and what do you observe?
What have you tried to diagnose the problem? (e.g. review audit log, review the issues, review the workflow, etc.)
In Audit log ,rule is success, I am not able to see changes in child ticket.
