Link to an Excel file to be opened with Excel

Question

I want to insert an Excel fil (.xlsx) into my Confluence site.

Either if I insert it as a link or as an attachment or I use the Excel-Macro or the Office Excel-Macro, it is not possible to get the file opened with the MS Excel Application.

It is always opens as a website an not in the Excel application.

How can I change that?

Using the Office Word makro it works for docx documents, but not for Excel

Our app, Polaris spreadsheet allows you to embed an existing excel file for your project management in a confluence page and to directly edit it. In addition, it also supports creating a Jira issue or linking a ticket.
