Project issues missing from Board view but are all visible in List view

I have a project with 53 issues. When viewing the issues in the list format I can see all 53 but only after selecting "show done issues" under the More drop down icon.

When switching to Board view there are only 45 but there is no ability to select the "show done issues" under the More icon. 

 

Is there a way of fixing this?

Please specify if you are using Kanban or Scrum Board.

If you are using Kanban Board, probably your subfilter hide issues completed from a while.

Try to choose another subfilter in your configuration.

(Kanban only) Hiding completed issues

To improve your board's performance, all issues in the Done column which weren't updated within the last 2 weeks are hidden. You can change this time period, or choose to always show all issues.

To hide completed issues:

1. Go to your board, then select more () in the top right corner > Board settings.

2. In the Hide completed issues older than field, select the retention period. Issues that weren't updated within this period will be hidden.
