Is it possible to create a board across multiple projects?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Configuring boards

We have multiple projects in JIRA for our organization - is it possible to configure a board in one project and have items from other projects included?

The use-case is that I'd like to track high-impact bugs in our product which are visible to customers in JIRA so that everybody can see the status of the individual issues included on the board. However, these issues may occur across different projects and all of these projects already have their own boards.

I'm new to JIRA so please consider that in your responses - thanks for your help!

A board is a view of a set of issues. If you edit the board configuration, you'll see that there's a board filter which determines that set. The usual approach is to have a simple case where a board filter just says "look at that project", but there's no need or even good reason to stick to that. Change the filter to include the other projects and you'll be able to add whatever issues you want to include. (And, it won't affect other boards, unless they are based on that filter)

Yes you can include the multiple projects in single Scrum/Kanban board.

I created a new SCRUM board that includes several projects. One of those projects was previously managed by another SCRUM board, which was at sprint N. The new board has also started at sprint N, which is probably helpful.

Any idea of what is going on here? Is the sprint number sequence a property of a board? Why does it not start at zero but picks up the sprint number of another board?

I think this is true for Jira Agile but not Jira Core.
