Can I make a link to an external site always open in a new window / tab?

Question

I noticed that now any link opens in the same window.
It is convenient, but in some cases, I still think it is better for the reader of my article to view the material in a separate window, close it calmly and continue reading.

On confluence cloud, this is currently not possible and there's already a feature request raised for the same - Open links in new window

I would suggest you to vote for it and watch it for further updates.

Users can use the following to open links in a new tab:

* CTRL+Left Click (Windows) or CMD+Left Click (macOS)
* Right click > Open in a new tab
