Impact of merging / deleting accounts in Salesforce on JIRA ticket connection.

Hello, 

we are currently using the Service rocket connector and some users noticed, that if we merge account on Salesforce side, the connection that was made between JIRA ticket and Salesforce account is lost (the ticket on the JIRA side references the account that was deleted). Is there any way, how to avoid / fix this issue?
