How do I make the period of Audit log longer for Jira cloud?

Question

I've checked Jira audit log period.

and I've found out that it supports 6 month period.

for the security reason, I want to make it longer over 1 year.

How do I do?

I am wondering if it could make sense to get the Audit events via REST API, store it in a safe place and determine the retention rules on an own basis, if you want to:
