Bulk Update Existing Stories through csv

Question

Hello,

I want to update several issues with the updates we made to those requirements. I tried to upload a csv with the issue key and task ID hoping it will update the stories but it created new ones instead. I am wondering if I am missing something. Has anyone been able to successfully bulk update stories through a csv upload? If so, could you please guide me?

If only this would be available to mere mortals...

I'm working in my project  and the jira admins don't have time to upload on my behalf.

Doing the same via option 1 - with all issues belonging to the project where I have all the editing rights would be great

On Jira Cloud there are two options to import issues via CSV:

Filters > Advanced search > ººº > Import issues from CSV

Cog icon > System > External system import > CSV

The option that allows you to update existing tickets is the second one that is available only for Jira administrators and checking the details of your site, I can see that you don’t have such permission.

With this said, you need to ask your site administrator to add to the jira-administrators group or ask a Jira admin to update the existing tickets for you.
