Can you limit permissions on a field based on Security Role/Group?

There is a need to allow a specific role (e.g. Software Engineer) to enter a ticket in another team's JIRA project. However, I need to limit that role from being able to update the Priority field.

Hi @Amanda Beloy , welcome on the community. Jira does not provide configuration of permissions per field but there is a workaround.

1. Remove Priority field from Edit screen
2. Create transition screen with Priority field
3. Create transition in your workflow "Edit Priority" and add new transition screen to it
4. Configure Conditions of a new transition correctly so only specific users can adjust Priority field
