Inactive users are still getting JIRA email notifications

Question

I am using JIRA Cloud.

I removed JIRA access from a group of users that are no longer on the project.

They still receive email notifications when issues they created, are "watching", etc. are updated.

How do I stop email notifications from going to inactive users?

Hello Mauro,

The don't have Application Access.

I looked into it more and they are only receiving emails from Filter subscriptions.  All the notifications from issues being updated are not being sent.  my mistake.

So, is there a way to make sure Filter subscription emails are not sent to users that do not have Application Access?

Is it "inactive" as they don't have "Application Access" to JIRA or just project access?
